The greatest saleswoman in the world today dosn't mind if you call her a girl. That's becouse Markita Andrew has generated more than eighty thousand dollars selling Girl Scout cookies since she was seven years old.
Going door-to-door after school, the painfully shy Markita transformed herself into a cookie-selling dynamo when she discovered, at age 13, the secret of selling.
It starts with desire. Burning, white hot desire.
For Markita and her mother, who worked as a waitress in New York after her husband left them when Markita was eight years old, their dream was to travel the globe. "I"ll work hard to make enough money to send you to colledge," her mother said one day. "You"ll go to college and when you graduate, you"ll make enough money to take you and me around the world. Okey?"
so at age 13 when Markita read in her girl Scout magazine that the scout who sold the most cookies would win an all-expense-paid trip for two around the world, ever.
but desire alone is not enough. To make her dream come true, Markita knew she needed a plan.
"Always wear your right outfit, your professional garb," her aunt advised. "When you are doing business, dress like you are doing business. Wear your Girl Scout uniform. when you go up to people in their tenement buildings at 4:30 or 6:30 and especially on Friday night, ask for a big order. Always smile, whether they buy or not, always be nice. And don't ask them to buy your cookies; ask them to invest."
Lots of other Scouts may have wanted that trip around the world. Lots of other Scouts may have had a plan. But only Markita went off in her uniform each day after school, ready to ask- and keep asking-folks to invest in her dream. "Hi, I have a dream. I'm earning a trip around the world for me and my mom by merchandising girl Scout cookies," she'd say at the door. "Whould you like to invest in one dozen or two dozen boxes of cookies?"
Markita sold 3,526 boxes of Girl Scout cookies that year and won her trip around the world. since then, she has sold more than 42,000 boxes of Girl scout cookies, spoken at sales conventions accross the coutry, starred in a disney movie about her adventure and has co-authored the best seller, How to sell More Cookies, Condos, Cadillacs, Computers..And everything else.
Markita is no smarter and no more extroverted than thousand of other people, young and old, with dreams of their own. the difference is Markita has discovered the secret of sailing: Ask, Ask, As! Many people fail before they even begin because they fail to ask for what they want. The fear of rejection leads many of us to reject ourselves and our dream long before anyone elseever has the chance- no matter what we're selling.
And everyone is selling something. "you're selling yourself everyday..in school, to your boss, to new people you meet," said Markita at 14. "My mother is a waitress: she sells the daily special. Mayors and Presidents trying to get votes are selling.... one of my favourite teachers was Mrs. chapin. She made geography interesting, and that's really selling.... I see selling everyway I look. selling is the part of the whole world."
It takes courage to ask for what you want. Courage is not the absence of fear. It's doing what is takes despite one's fear. And, as Markita has discovered, the more you ask, the (and more fun) it gets.
Once, on live TV, the producer decided to give Markitaher toughest selling challenge. markita was ask to sell girl scout cookies to another guess on the show. "Whould you like to invest in one dozen or two dozen boxes of girl scout cookies?" she asked.
"girl scout cookies?! I don't buy any girl scout cookies!" he replied. "I'm a Federal Penitentiary warden. I put 2,000 rapists, robbers, criminals, muggers, and child abusers to bed everynight."
Unruffled, Markita quickly countered. "Mister, if you take some of this cookies, maybe you won't be so mean and angry and evil. And , Mister, I think it would be a good idea for you to take some of this cookies back for everyone of yuor 2,000 prisoners, too."
Markita asked.

The Hardway to make blog

Curiosity
First, I didn't have any experience in typing, or any related matters. first time to see the formatted blogs in the Internet world. It seems to me that, it is like making a story, or you are the story teller. I took all my books from my old cabinet and chooses the books that i think can give me a good story. My problem is, it will take a minutes to finish a one paragraph, "Oh my God, how far it will take to finish one short story if I myself didn't know how to use a typewriter which is commonly used before".

Researching and Reading
Second, I began to search from the Internet Explorer looking for the formatted blog and I found One. Very neat, there are many pictures on the layout, advertiser, logo, title name, e.t.c. "I don't know how they put it in there." I have no idea on that time. I began to feel a little embarrassment to myself cause I know for sure, I need to educate myself on how all this things formatted.

Gathering Information
I began to asked others with knowledge on computers, gathering useful information, reading different formatted blogs, news, information technology, health matters, all in the Internet. Spending plenty of hours in front of the computer screen, thinking too much on how I can used this computer to earn money on line. It is like a machine where you need to know the parts and memorized it, It is like a painter (skills job) where you need to know the best parts of the house to attach the colors to look good. It is like walking to another world.

Making a short stories
By the help of my friends, information's, I made my first blog. Maybe you wanted to know how much time I spend? tree days in the process. Some family pictures, my family pictures, Birds, trees, flowers, e.t.c. I am not fluent in English language but I tried to make some short stories about the pictures, which makes me feel unsatisfied.

Preparation for final steps
I decided to do some experiment on how to get and pin (paste) the pictures from the wikipedia encyclopedia into my blog format, getting information from, HELP, FAQs, SETTING, Tools, FILE, EDIT, VIEW, SEARCH. Such information I got from all of this becomes useful to me, this tells me what I supposed to do next, but most of the time, trying to follow this tools is not easy, it's because by my own mistakes (trial & error attitude). lots of mistakes and errors occurred while making my first blog. There are times that I removed the pictures and paste it again, rewrite and erased again, computer collapsed due to overused.

AdSense Promoting my blog
In the end, I started to learned the procedures to operates the computer. I started to make my blog neat and changing the colors, title, applied to AdSense by Google, putting ads to my blog, AdSense gave the procedure to paste and to put necessary files, like advertisement, search, referrals and many other useful files needed for your blogs, just like a newspapers,just be sure to follow all the Terms and Conditions and they will assisted you, help you to promote ( HOST) your blogs and aside from that, they will pay you.

Blogs community
I am not sure if the people in the blogs community will appreciate this type of blogs, and I accept it. Since i began to make blogs 3 months ago, I have made more than ten sets of blogs in one account, spending much of my time working on it, from 5 o:clock in the morning until 2 am the following day, even on Sunday. I did the best i can to make those blogs looking good and presentable to readers. My mind is too busy thinking of the best article to make. Looking on to the newspapers, books, magazines, e.t.c, just to make my blogs nice to read. Doing things like this is a challenge to me.

The new world of technology

First steps Is to search Encarta encyclopedia, but wikipedia appears and to many websites linking Encarta encyclopedia. So being curious on the matter, I started to make some research using wikipedia. exiting isn't it. it's almost all nations have their own version.

I started to read different articles, links, viewing the different pictures and scenery all over the world, one example is the photoabove ( explosion of Mt. Pinatubo in the Philippines) I am beginning to realized and think that i was on the primitive side of the world, that I am too far with this generations. I never expected this, i spend much of my time working hard to earned money, to save money for my family, and besides we already have our owned house to live with, so never in my mind to think that my family need computers. being so exited, i forgot to take my lunch, my dinner, just a cup of coffee, time is to short for me even though i go to bed late at night. Searching is to easy, and i remembered what my friend told me about earning money on line.

setting up Google application, hardest time for me, there are so many procedure, we have to know first before signing- in to any website, there, you must read first and understand the company policy, "read and learn. " will help us to get in.

A House of Hope

with the help of 6 person, my uncle build a house for us, he chooses, shall i say, trusted friend, (nephews). Believed you me, he made (drawings) of the architectural floor plan, supervised the layout structuring of the house, the steel trust and the roof, the layout of water pipes, it's because he wanted to save money for there are many things to buy for the house, he wants everything are all in place.

Last month of May (this year)
an employer from Australia called on him and asked if he is still willing to work in abroad, but my grandma disagree and said "he spend many years working in abroad, let him feel the fruits of his works", "he is old enaugh and need my attension." I know that my grandma is right. For many years, because of my grandpa's willingness to give better future for them, he decided to work far away from each other.

My Uncle

To tell you the Truth, he's the best grandfather for me. Simple, hardworking, and a gentleman of his words. He always telling me that the worst thing a man did for his life is
telling a lie. He is a silent type of person everyone in the community knows.


He is an HVAC/R mechanic/technician
spend half of his life working to a U.S. Government firm here in the Philippines ( U.S.AID ) and abroad, to the U.S. Naval Base B.I.O.T. British Indian Ocean territory, U.S. Naval Base. Guantanamo Bay Cuba and in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

People here in the barrio

knows him well for being a friendly guy, especially children love to see him everyday. Why?, he loves children, especially those child in the streets, whose parents are not capable of caring their child, the child is walking in the street acted like beggars, parents who didn't care no matter what will gonna happened to their child as long as they are free, free to do anything they want, and this children needs attensions. but he is smart. He chooses to stay in the house, taking care of our poultry raising like chicken, ducks, goats, and in our vegetable garden rather than going everywhere.

A blue collar boy's only dream

was to help his family and parents get out of poverty. Before, they fed with rice. banana, cooking oil, fish sauce, chicharon, and sometimes none of the above. but they were happy with their simple lifestyle and did not mind being poor at all. my old grand-grand father always telling me their few stories in the fast when my grand-father was a teenager then. He said that my grand father always wanted to stay in the streets (not a stowaway) just to make money of his own way, because for him for quite sometimes, chicken meat or fork meat was already a feast for us.

At a very young age

he manages to do servicing like cleaning a cars, shining of shoes, newspapers and comiksbook vendor, balot (ducks-egg preserves) vendor, cigarettes vendor, a journeyman for short, to be able to send himself to school. He knew that education was his key to achieving his dreams, to become an engineer. He continued to be a working students until college taken only two years because of luck of support. He enlisted himself to the Philippine Air force. He was married at a very young age and went to a vocational school were he can afford to pay as a working student, just to learn more about things he is needed as a family man.

Blog's of error

"My curiosity pulled on me to sign in and make my first blog, at first, i really don't know what to do, if my memory is right , i spend the whole day, 24 hours i guess just to sign in to Google. There are so many errors and plenty of mistakes, before i get through it. I was very happy then. I tried to relax, open my mind to think the better topic, which is hard on that particular moments. I know to myself if I'm ready or not, but the question is, what will you do if you are in front of your computer and ready write things so the world can read?. First timer isn't easy.

On that very same moments i realized that being a blogger is not easy, you must have a knowledge on how to write using keypad, your spelling, in short, must have a knowledge in typing and computer literacy. But why i am here?, to become a writer? I asked myself. Time is running, and for almost 6hours, no topics was created.

The challenge

I was on my way home from a customer's house when my friend called me, " oh!, how are you?," "I have some good news for you", "for me!," my quick replied with curiosity, "how?," that's the last words came out from my mouth cause he suddenly left for he is in a hurry on that moments. An hour after, he past by in the house explained me the real score on this matter.

"I was so exited when he told me that can i earn money even in my house by using of computer, my question is how? what kind of help can a computer give for as far as i know, this equipments usually used by a company to sorts of things and to save all important files that only them can see with regards to secrecy and also used especially by most of the students for researching for their homework/assignment in the school". This guy told me, not to mention his name. "buy a set of computer, learn to operate it or ask somebody to teach you." This makes me curious about the matter, "another adventure of my life" i said to myself.

Days past, and I've almost forgot the discussion we shared the other day. I am very busy cultivating our vegetable yard to plant a seeds of eggplant, when suddenly my son called up from the phone and asking me to buy a computer so his wife, the children and me could easily make a call on him from the computer if needed. The next day, we bought one sets of computer.

I started to make my research about the Google.com.
signing up a lot of website that i didn't know what the functions is, i didn't know what to do next. It's the exiting day for me. I saw different features, websites, pictures, e.t.c., type a words, click and the Internet replied instantly, any words just type it in the box. and that is the beginning.

All his friends called him (jack of all trade)

He is a professional singer too (sometimes)

Twice a week he did not forget to do some exercise of his voice lesson, and when he sing, you can hear different voices like Tom Jones, Elvis Presley, Barry Manilow, Engelbert Humperdink and many more. He share his knowledge of singing to those aspiring girls wishes to go in Japan as an entertainers and because of this, he established a Promotion business helping those who wishes to become a singer performer seeking to work in Japan, but this business takes only two (2) years. because of some circumstances.

He established a Service Shop

refrigeration & air conditioning services on 2001 and until now my uncle used to work with. He established a mini-canteen for my grand-ma to manage. He is a kind of a guy with plenty of guts and preparedness and interest, and for that, most of his friend tags him as a jack of all trades.
